Video is the No 1 asset to have on your site.

Video content increases the time spent by visitors on your site by more than three times.

Longer exposure on your site will build trust and confidence with a visitor which will ultimately lead to a more informed buying decision, whether it’s on a single green fee, larger group booking, or a new membership. Evidently, video has been found to increase your sales conversion by up to 80%. Furthermore, taking a consumer on a visually-engaging journey is a more exciting way to promote your club and course, wouldn’t you agree? Prior to video projects we took the time to conduct consumer surveys and one of the results we found was that 64% said they would be more inclined to purchase something after watching a promotional or explainer video.

18 Players Tip:

Keep your video content short and snappy – 30-90 seconds is ideal.

Easy to use and navigate

When a visitor lands on your site, can they immediately find what they’re looking for?

Keep your website navigation simple and intuitive. To achieve this  you need to make sure your most important information is prominently displayed. Identify what your key target markets arewhether its societies, corporate events, or coaching and make sure its visible on your homepage when it first loads. We have worked very closely with Alwoodley Golf Club, and one of their briefs when we were discussing their new website criteria was to have a clear, easytouse website. We did this by having two distinct categories such as a member’s section and a visitor’s section readily available on their homepage.

18 Players Tip:

Go through your entire website to make sure that no matter which page your visitors land on, they know exactly what to do next.

Keep your website content fresh and up to date

Content is what visitors come to your site for, whether its videos, photos, latest news, or club bios.

Keeping these up to date and offering new and fresh insights will keep visitors engaged with what your club is doing. We find the easiest way to keep on top of this is to create a content calendar. Having simple notes and reminders will keep you on track to having an exciting website that consumers want to visit and find out what’s new at your club.

18 Players Tip:

Posting short videos of club news, course changes, and upcoming events will have a greater impact than just text.
