Royal Birkdale

Royal Birkdale is one of world’s most renowned golf clubs and sits on England’s finest stretch of golf courses on the North West coast.

The golf club sits right at the heart of the history of the game of golf, having held The Open on 10 separate occasions, most recently in 2017 when Jordan Spieth was victorious. The course has also played host to the Women’s British Open on six occasions as well as the Ryder Cups, Walker Cup, Curtis Cup, Senior Open Championship and The Amateur Championship.

It is widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in the world with golfers treated to a beautiful course that is flanked by dunes. The historic clubhouse is home to some of the golf’s best memorabilia from Open Championships gone by, including a Claret Jug.

18Players were commissioned to undertake a vast digital project for Royal Birkdale which included a new website, photography and videography.

The photography captures and helps give a flavour of how beautiful Royal Birkdale really is with a great mixture of aerial and on the ground shots to show the different terrains and help people get a real feel for the golf course.

We helped produce a club promotional video which highlights a golfer’s day from the moment they arrive at the famous Southport Links and take in the historic clubhouse to the moment they walk up the famous 18th fairway.

A unique style of video, our hole promotional videos offer a different aspect to a traditional hole flyover. Instead we offer a mixture of aerial and on the ground shots with golfers playing the holes. Similar to the photography, we believe this style really helps a golfer gain a better perspective of the golf course.

All of the above is incorporated in to the club’s new website which showcases the brilliant on and off course experience when you visit the club.
